About the Role
As a Design Engineer, you will be in charge of developing and improving a wide range of production processes. Mechanical designs, manufacturing automation system integration, and process controls are all required for the role. Budget, timeline, business impacts, regulations, industry standards, and safety standards are all factors to consider. You will also be required to provide technical assistance for troubleshooting and production support on occasion. Our team employs a wide range of skills, including 3D CAD operation, mechanical system design, electrical designs, and machine programming.
Job duties vary greatly depending on the size and type of employer. However, typical responsibilities include:
Collaborate with production personnel and engineers to develop and improve production processes in order to increase productivity and safety.
Capability to plan and manage projects while interacting with internal stakeholders and achieving requirements to specify systems
Apply a systematic and analytic problem-solving approach to make evidence-based technical decisions that are safe, functional, cost-effective, and validated.
Support automation projects by designing engineering processes during development or procurement, and be in charge of commissioning equipment into production areas by providing training and documentation.
Familiarize yourself with new and used manufacturing equipment, and offer technical assistance, training, and advice to the various production areas.
Using 3D CAD software, create CAD drawings for part manufacturing that adhere to the AS 1100 technical drawing standard.
As needed, provide technical reports and process instructions.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or in a related field
2-5 years of experience working in engineering
Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems and products
Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar
Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
Must be self-motivated and a great team worker
